Bio

I’ve consulted and written on a variety of information matters and ran my own consulting company for 20 years prior to which I established information services for the British Gas Engineering Research Station and later at BP co-ordinated the Group’s information services, managed the central data and records management consultancy teams, and introduced one of the first major corporate text retrieval systems. I’ve been associated with many ‘information’ organizations including the UK Information and Records Management Society, AIIM, The Data Management Association, the Institute of Management Consultants, the Institute of Information Scientists and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.

I’m author of “Effective Document and Data Management” the 3rd edition of which was published by Gower in 2012; also currently Assistant editor of the ‘International Journal of Information Management’ published by Elsevier. My New Cura Viewpoint – ‘Information Governance – beyond ISO 30300’ – is available on Kindle at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Information-Governance-Beyond-30301-Viewpoint-ebook/dp/B00K7JHU2K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1403508219&sr=8-2&keywords=bob+wiggins

WordPress Origin Story

I’d developed my original website using CoffeeCup software and an external host in support of my Gower book (see above). It was time consuming to update so I adopted WordPress on the site and it’s the best thing I’ve done.
